Dell XPS M1710 Widescreen Laptop

The XPS M1710 is Dell’s latest premium gaming and multimedia notebook replacing XPS M170 with added improvements like the Go 7900 graphics. Dell XPS M1710 is available in two colors i.e. ‘formula red’ and ‘metallic black’. The XPS M1710 features a 17 inch widescreen WUXGA LCD, having resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, with the Dell TrueLife treatment to provide greater contrast and bolder colors.

The dimensions of Dell XPS M1710 are 15.5 inch wide, 11.3 inch deep, and 1.6 inch thick, and weighed approximately 8.8 pounds without AC adapter and 10.2 pounds with AC adapter. M1710 version include the fastest Intel Core Duo T2600 (2.16GHz) Processor, 2GB of 677 MHz DDR2 memory, 100 GB capacity at a speed of 7200rpm SATA drive, and an Nvidia GeForce Go 7900 GTX graphics processor with 512MB of DDR3 memory, 8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW/+R) with dual layer etc.

The Operating System provided is Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 and the wireless and Bluetooth technologies offered are Intel Pro/Wireless 3945 802.11a/b/g and Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth respectively. The XPS M1710 can emit shafts of light in any one of the 16 colors from its lid, side vents, and speaker vents. It also features Dell’s MediaDirect Software to play CDs and DVDs, and it also allows to access photos and other media files stored in hard drive without booting up Windows first.

The ports, jacks, and slots featured with M1710 are headphone-out and microphone-in jacks, VGA and DVI outputs, S-Video-out, four-pin (IEEE) FireWire, and six USB 2.0 ports. The network connections included are 56Kbps modem, and 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet, ExpressCard slot, and 5-in-1 media card reader etc. The battery used in XPS M1710 is 9-cell lithium ion rechargeable battery with two and half hours of life.
